The Welsh government aims to transform the expectations, experiences and outcomes for children and young people with additional learning needs.
To do so, they have developed the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Act, which will transform the separate systems for Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools and learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LDD) in further education, to create a unified system for supporting learners from 0 to 25 with ALN.

The Inclusion Manager, in collaboration with the Headteacher and Governing Body, plays a key role in determining the strategic development of the ALN Transformation and provision in the school in order to raise the achievement of children with ALN.
Provision is made for individual children with ALN, working closely with staff, parents/carers and other agencies. The inclusion manager is also designated as having responsibility for promoting the educational achievement of Looked After Children (LAC).
Child Protection Officers in the school are the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, the ALNCo and the Leaders of Learning.
