  Swimming Sessions Year 3

  Year 3 pupils will commence swimming sessions as of Tuesday 5th March.

  These sessions will be held every Tuesday for a

  period of six weeks, ending on Tuesday 9th April.

   

  Please remember to bring swimming kits to school..

  Library Opening

   

  On Thursday after school we held the grand opening of our new and improved library! What a success it was!

  The opening was hosted by the award

  winning children's author Richard O’Neill the Storyteller!

  Richard travels around the country

  offering training workshops, writing

  commissions, book and literary festivals, talks and lectures, school inset days and author visits.

  Some titles of Richards books are ‘Yokki and the Parno Gry’, ‘Polonius the Pit Pony’ and ‘Ossiri and the Bala Mengro’.

   

  The first 100 parents/carers that attended received a free signed book for their child! For those who attended but didn't receive a signed book, one will be sent out to you soon!

  Ysgol Emmanuel Happy Lunches

  This week Year 6 entrepreneurs have been making and selling Happy Lunches!

  A Happy Lunch includes:-

  A sandwich with a variety of fillings

  A yogurt (strawberry, banana or toffee)

  A piece of fruit

  A bottle of water/juice

   

  These lunches can be purchased for just £2 from our eCafé either the day before, or in the morning before 9:30am.

  They are freshly made everyday and will be delivered to your child in class before lunchtime.

  Our school library has undergone a huge makeover. The books have all been dusted, shelves have been stacked, library cards have been issued and contracts have been signed!

   

  To celebrate this important event we have invited the author ‘Richard O’Neill’ to hold story telling workshops for the children throughout the school day on Thursday 14^th February.

   

  You are invited to a book signing in our new library afterschool on Thursday 14^th February at 3:15pm.

  Every parent who attends with their child will receive a free signed book!

• Maths Week!

  Maths Week

  Maths Lessons

  Most of this week parents have been joining their children in the classroom. Parents

  participated in some maths games with their children before taking part in a short lesson. They then got to see their child's math skills in action, watching them go head to head with their peers answering a few Mathematical

  questions.

   

  Maths CSI Workshop

  Parents had the opportunity to take part in a CSI Maths workshop with their children on Wednesday.

   

  Foundation pupils had a chance to solve the mystery of the shoemakers stolen last (shoe mould) in Storyland! They did

  exceptionally well putting all their sorting and numeracy skills to the test and solving the mystery!

   

  Our KS2 pupils had the difficult task of solving the case of Michaela Maths! They all did so well answering the questions. They had to put all their maths knowledge and quick wits in to

  practice while trying to discover the perpetrator.
