KEEP PACKED LUNCHES COOL TO AVOID FOOD POISONING
Most people think that this is only a concern during the warmer weather, however, during the colder months school lunches can sometimes be kept in warm rooms and close to radiators and pipes.
Unfortunately we do not have a fridge to store packed lunches in school. If pupils bring their own packed lunches, we suggest that they are kept cool. This is especially important if those packed lunches contain cooked meats or dairy.
Ways to help keep lunches cool
*Place ice packs or a frozen carton of juice in the lunch box to keep the contents cool.
*If packed lunches are prepared the night before, always keep them stored in the fridge overnight.
