Message from Vale of Clwyd foodbank

Re: Vale of Clwyd Foodbank

To confirm that our foodbank has depots in Denbigh at Capel Mawr and Awelon in Ruthin and we generally cover the Vale of Clwyd between St Asaph in the North and Corwen in the South, there being other foodbanks in Rhyl, Prestatyn and Llangollen.

The following explains how to make a referral for a food parcel.

In order to protect our volunteers, our clients and comply with Government directives we no longer issue Food parcels personally to individual clients at the Foodbanks.

We  have set up an Agency Collection or Home Delivery service to the client’s home or if they are homeless to a prearranged collection point. The food parcels will  be left on the doorstep and not handed to clients. We do not need Vouchers at this time and will sort that detail in due course.

The collection and delivery day is a Thursday for Awelon. However we also have an emergency delivery scheme in place should that be required although would hope to avoid too much use of that facility if possible.

In order to make a referral for a food parcel we need the following detail using the following email address:

info@valeofclwyd.foodbank.org.uk

Please send an email to the above address including the clients Name/Full Address and Postcode/ and importantly a Contact number together with the Family Profile i.e. number of adults/children with the reason for the request for a food parcel, plus any allergies or dietary requirements/special requests/toiletries /sanitary products.etc.

Please inform the client that the food parcel will be delivered to their home address on the next Thursday and they should not attend at the Foodbank as they will not be able to get a Food parcel there at this time.

If urgent again use the email with the reason and the same details and we can arrange an emergency delivery.

If you need to make telephone contact please use the following number:

07498292569

From a Data Protection perspective please confirm that you have the client’s permission for this delivery service.

Please be aware that our stocks are limited, and that we cannot accept requests for parcels for clients that are simply self-isolating, but are financially able to buy food, and would therefore not be eligible for a voucher. Other arrangements should be made in that regard. If someone is in crisis however please contact us as detailed above.

I hope the above makes sense and if there are any questions please just call. We will always do our very best to help.
